Your make-up is applied, your hair is carefully styled and you’ve only got to put on those sexy heels to complete your ensemble before you're all ready and raring to go. So you think you’re looking drop dead gorgeous with all that oomph and dazzle huh? Aaah, but wait a minute…There's nothing that can spoil your look more than a conspicuous fashion faux pas…so before you go, take a brief look at some of the most frequently made fashion mistakes and blunders that you may have noticed on other people at some point or the other, but probably have never committed them yourself, right? Hmm, before you nod that vehemently in affirmation, take another look at our fashion faux pas section….these blunders are a lot more common than you think and surprisingly enough, many of these can be applied to a lot of men and women.

what is a trend?: How about: “A statistically significant change in performance of measured data which is unlikely to be due to a random variation in the process.”
That wont get the creative juices going, though. So consider what we came up with a few years ago, and which is still holding up well:
“A manifestation of something that has ‘unlocked’ or newly serviced an existing (and hardly ever changing) consumer need, desire, want, or value.”
Example? One of the core human needs is to be in control, or at least to have the illusion of being in control. No wonder then, that the online world (a new technology), which firmly puts the individual in the driver’s seat, is so addictive. We dubbed this manifestation ONLINE OXYGEN, and as the Net continues to put even more control in the hands of ordinary consumers, were spotting sub-trends every day.

Dark colored clothing, light colored shoes or visa versa: Keep your clothing and shoes in the same color family. White and black go with anything, but dont make the mistake of mismatching light and dark colors. |
|

Using the wrong accessories: Top off your look with accessories that match your style. Choose the correct length necklace. Short chains and chokers tend to make your neck appear larger. And for women who believe in wearing huge chunks of jewelry, rings, earrings, bangles all in one go, please dont over-accessorize- it just ends up looking gaudy. |

Too much white: For women who are on the heavier side, always remember as a general rule , no matter what you may think, white will always make you look larger than you actually are (and you so don’t want that rite!) So its best just to limit this color unless you’re thin…Oh and dont even think about wearing white slacks unless you want to add bulk. |

Mixing two seasons in one outfit: Your pieces will contradict each other. Stick with one-season fashions. |
|
| • |
Wrinkled clothing: That great suit or dress will never flatter you unless its wrinkle-free. Avoid this fashion mistake and buy clothes that dont wrinkle too much or iron them carefully before you don an outfit. As for women who are just plain lazy and consider ironing a needless hassle, wearing material like georgette, lycra and crushed silk is always another option

Clothes that fit badly: Wearing baggy clothes can add pounds. For women, who prefer to think otherwise, lets all embrace reality now. Clothes that are too small or tight only serve to accentuate unsightly bulges. Dont buy anything thinking that it will be "just right" for when you lose weight. Look good now, with what you have. Oh and if the size tag bothers you that much, grab a pair of scissors and simply cut it off. Trust me, this approach is bound to work far better than people smirking at you as you struggle to breathe |

Dressing up too trendy: Dont try to satisfy every single trend you’ve ever heard of in one day. Youll probably just end up looking really, really silly and getting laughed at. Focus instead on causal underplayed elegance that gets the point across rather than slamming it across on the onlooker’s face. Ever heard of subtlety – try it, it adds the much desired elements of class and mystery. |
